MIPIM 2020

Next up in our MIPIM 2020 countdown is a list of our tops tips for all those who are heading to Cannes. We learnt these from our time at the 2019 event and wanted to share them to help newcomers get the best from the event. Take a read and if you have any more to add to the list then make sure you share them with us!

Comfortable Shoes

It might seem obvious but comfortable shoes are an essential for MIPIM 2020. You’ll be doing a lot of walking and standing and if your shoes aren’t up to the job, you’ll know about it! Trust us, your feet will thank you later.

Take plenty of business cards

However many you think you might need to bring, double it. Our team went through a huge stack last year and so will be amply equipped this year. You’ll also receive a lot of cards so make sure you have a pocket or bag to store them in. We found that having a pen to hand means you can make a quick note on the card of the discussion you had, who that person was and what they do. This will prove useful when you’re back in blighty and doing follow ups to all the people you met.

Time zone

Sounds daft as they are only an hour ahead but make sure you adjust the time zone on your computer and phone once you’ve arrived. Having lots of meetings booked in is great but it’s not so great if you’re late for them all.

Suncream and Lipbalm

It’s important in amongst the networking and deal making to make sure you look after yourself. While there’s no guarantee that the weather will be nice it’s best to pack some suncream and lipbalm. We do like to be beside the seaside, but we don’t like to be bright red and burnt beside the sea.

Time management

This is an important one. It may be tempting to think that you’ll spend all your time on a sunny beach, sipping champagne while people line up to meet you. Sadly that’s not the case. Before you go make sure that you book meetings in with the key people that you want to see and, crucially, that you allow yourself enough time to get to from one meeting to the next. Ensure that you also leave some free time for networking and meetings that you’ll have once you are there. Good diary management will mean you’ll be able to get the most out of your time at MIPIM.

Meet with our team at MIPIM 2020

This is another top tip, particularly if you’re looking for help with IT-enabling your commercial property. Book a meeting with our team to find out how we can help you increase the revenue potential of your commercial property simply by providing managed WiFi and superfast fibre internet connectivity into your portfolio. You can book a meeting here.

We’re also part of the London Dialogues at the London at MIPIM Pavilion. We’re on the ‘London is Talented’ session discussing ‘Workspace, User experience and Space as a Service’. Find out more about it here.

Finally, if you’re from the flexible workspace sector and are around on the Wednesday (11th March) evening then join our team for drinks and a catch up at Morrisons Irish Pub from 8pm.
