The Partnership
For premium flexible workspace operator Koba, exceptional hospitality goes beyond beautifully designed workspaces. Every interaction, from welcoming a new resident to supporting enterprise businesses with complex technology requirements, contributes to the overall experience.
Behind every premium workspace sits technology that members rarely think of but rely on every day.
“technologywithin is an extension of our team. They understand what we’re trying to achieve and consistently support us in delivering the experience we want for our residents.”
Ed Harbison, Sales & Marketing Director, Koba
The Challenge
Flexible workspace technology has evolved far beyond providing internet access.
Today’s occupiers expect frictionless technology experiences, delivering secure, high-performance connectivity, without interruption. At the same time, operators need technology that is simple to manage, integrates with other workplace platforms and scales as their portfolio grows.
For Koba, technology is also needed to reflect the company’s wider values.
As the world’s first flexible workspace operator to achieve WELL Coworking Certification™, sustainability and wellbeing influences everything from workspace design to supplier selection. Choosing partners who shared those values was essential.
“It’s really important that our supply chain is as sustainable as possible. It feeds into us being a sustainable workspace. technologywithin have supported us in ensuring what we deliver can be done in a sustainable way.”
Chris Griffin, General Manager, Koba
The Solution
Koba partnered with technologywithin to deploy twiindata, a software-defined networking platform, purpose-built for flexible workspaces.
Rather than relying on traditional IT support, the platform enables Koba’s operational teams to manage member connectivity instantly, reducing delays and allowing issues to be resolved in moments.
Behind the scenes, enterprise-grade security, private VLANs, secure WiFi roaming and intelligent bandwidth management ensure every business receives a reliable, secure service, regardless of size or technical complexity.
Just as importantly, twiindata integrates seamlessly with Koba’s wider technology ecosystem, giving the business the flexibility to choose best-in-class solutions without compromise.
“The ability for that platform to integrate with our other partners’ technology is crucially important for us.”
Paul Nellist, Managing Director, Koba
Technology That Supports Hospitality
At Koba, premium hospitality means removing friction from every part of the resident experience.
Members should be able to walk into the building, connect instantly and get to work without ever thinking about the technology behind it.
As Samuel Warren, Sales & Marketing Director at technologywithin, explains:
“Our job is to deliver connectivity that is simple, invisible, reliable and secure for the complex world of multiple businesses sharing one network.”
Rather than becoming another service members need to think about, technologywithin allows connectivity to fade into the background, leaving Koba’s team free to focus on what they do best.
Edward Crabtree, Director of Business Development at technologywithin, believes that’s exactly how it should be.
“Nobody should ever need to know who technologywithin are. They’re buying their workspace experience from Koba. When everything works, they praise Koba, and that’s exactly how it should be.”
Sustainability Beyond the Workspace
Shared values formed the foundation of the partnership from the very beginning.
As Edward Crabtree explains:
“We had to make sure at every stage that we were mindful of Koba’s core values, even down to not introducing plastics into the delivery process and making sure we kept our carbon footprint to a minimum with site visits.”
Existing network hardware was retained wherever possible, reducing unnecessary equipment replacement and waste. Remote network management significantly reduced the need for engineer visits, while the installation process was designed to minimise packaging and avoid introducing unnecessary plastics into the supply chain.
The long-term sustainability benefits continue beyond installation. By delivering enterprise-grade networking from day one, members are less likely to install their own additional networking equipment, reducing energy consumption, hardware waste and unnecessary complexity throughout the building.
A Partnership Built for the Future
As enterprise occupiers place greater demands on flexible workspaces, expectations around security, integrations and operational simplicity continue to grow.
For Koba, having the right technology partner means more than delivering reliable connectivity. It means working with a team that understands the sector, shares the same values and continues to support the business as it evolves.
“The big advantage for us is our ability to sell Koba to prospective residents, knowing that we’ve got a strong, secure network through our partnership with technologywithin. They have a strong reputation, are future-focused and partnership-driven, sharing similar values to us.”
Paul Nellist, Managing Director, Koba
Together, Koba and technologywithin continue to demonstrate how technology can quietly enable exceptional hospitality, supporting premium workspaces today while providing the flexibility to meet tomorrow’s demands.
